Dr. Patricia Marck
Dr. Marck joined UVic as Professor and Dean in July 2015 after four years as Director for UBC Okanagan’s School of Nursing. From 2002-2011, she was appointed to the University of Alberta Faculty of Nursing and the Royal Alexandra Hospital. Her teaching foci were interdisciplinary health care ethics and health systems leadership and her research introduced a restorative approach to safety and quality in health care. Before joining academia, she consulted for the AARN and practiced emergency, burns and rural nursing. She has expertise in grantsmanship, quality improvement, health systems and academic leadership, healthcare ethics, curriculum innovation and qualitative research methods. Her interests include research mentoring and working with Elders, faculty, students, and staff to support anti-racism and decolonizing practices.
