John Dingley

My main fields of interest and research are Slavic historical linguistics, Russian language, Finnish language, and Russo-Nordic linguistic contacts.
I have published articles and reviews in all of these areas. I have taught and lectured at universities in the USA, Great Britain, Canada, Germany, Poland, Finland, and Sweden, my principal appointment being at York University in Toronto (1989-2008).
Since 2009 I have been an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Germanic and Slavic Studies at the University of Victoria. I am currently working on a reference grammar of Finnish for English speakers and preparing a monograph on pseudocoordinates in Slavic and beyond.
