Stephanie Gruhlke

Position
In 2021, Stephanie completed her MA through the Department of Political Science at UVic. Her thesis, “Controlling Borders & Securing the State” provided an interpretative policy analysis of international human sex trafficking policy. During her MA studies she held RA positions on various projects relating to sex trafficking, international law, and/or international governance. She also holds a BA with a double major in History and Political Studies from the University of Alberta Augustana Campus.
Stephanie has been involved with the Centre for Global Studies in a variety of capacities since 2018. She began as a workstudy student in January 2018, then worked with the centre as an Events & Communications Assistant before transitioning in September 2018 to a permanent position as the Events & Administrative Assistant. In this role, she was responsible for or organizing the Global Talks series, assisting with our public events, maintaining an administrative presence at the front office, and working with our workstudy students to maintain our website and compile the weekly newsletter.
