Computers in the libraries
There are 160 computers at the Mearns Centre - McPherson Library and 46 laptops that can be borrowed from the Ask Us Desk.
All library workstations are governed by our Computer Use Policy.

Using library computer services
- Printing from library workstations
- Wireless printing from personal laptops
- Access your saved files from any UVic workstation or your home computer
- Available to students, faculty, and staff
- Equipment and software for students with print-based and learning disabilities
- Priority for these workstations is given to students who require assistive technologies
Tips for using computer workstations:
- Save your work regularly
- Save your documents to a USB drive or to your UVic personal home file storage
- Save emailed documents to the desktop before editing or printing
- Log off when you are finished at a workstation
- The libraries are not responsible for lost work or misprints
