Earth Science Field School (EOS 300)

Section A01: August 18-29, 2025.
Section A02 (if needed): August 12-23, 2025.
Location: Southern Vancouver Island

Prerequisites: EOS 201 (Sedimentary), 202 (Structural) - strictly enforced
Participation fee: To be determined (likely $1000-$1300, exclusive of tuition)
Application: via – Deadline: Friday, 15 November, 2024, midnight.
Deposit $100 via – Deadline: Friday, 22 November 2024, midnight.

Balance Deadline: TBD – likely early January.
Registration: An invitation to register will be sent to participating students by email.
Refunds: All refund requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of SEOS administration.
- Deposits will ONLY be considered for refund under the following circumstances:
- the student is not offered a seat in the course due to capacity
- extenuating extreme circumstances (i.e. medical issue, death in the family, etc.)
- Participation fees over and above the deposit will be considered for refund under the following circumstances:
- extenuating extreme circumstances (i.e. medical issue, death in the family, etc.)
- failure of a pre-requisite course
No refunds will be considered in the case of conflicts with work schedules or personal choice circumstances
Accommodation/board:
A portion of the program will involve day trips in and around Victoria and the Gulf Island. Students will be picked up from Parking Lot 1 each morning and dropped off there each evening. Accommodation and food on those days will be the student’s responsibility.
A portion of the program will take place based out of Strathcona Park Lodge. Hostel style accommodation will be provided as will meals for the days we are there. An itinerary of these activities will be provided in the new year.
Transportation:
The department will provide transportation to and from parking lot #1 for the duration of the program. Multi-passenger vans or busses will be used.
